The program is:
(a) An invitation to reflect on your life once you leave the workforce
(b) An attempt at understanding and defining what the challenges are in retirement and in pre-retirement, and how best to approach these challenges.
(c) A structured and practical approach to your preparation for retirement focused on your true self.
Format:
Two options
A) A one day seminar, consisting of a series of presentations and discussions on the challenges facing retirees. We will undertake a “journey” into the future to look at the different phases of retirement right up to the very end. Tools, including a document called “Road map: am I ready to retire?” which is a structured plan of action and reflection, will be distributed at the end of the day for subsequent use by participants to continue their preparation for retirement. An extensive list of reading and reference material will be provided.
B) A series of private and confidential meetings (usually three or four) of approximately two hours each, totally structured and focused on the specific needs of the participant. All areas covered in the group sessions will be reviewed here with concentration on the issues of particular significance to the participant. A personalized action and reflection plan will be developed to specifically address the participant’s needs and concerns. A targeted list of reading and reference material will be provided.
NOTE: The presentations have all been developed with the participants in mind. They are practical rather than academic in nature and are all based on and supported by an extensive research (readings, studies, consultation) on the subject, as well as on the experience gained by the leader’s personal journey through this transition.
